Now it's done!!! The lowering springs are in place and I must say I'm pretty pleased with the result. Unfortunately the back is still a little bit lower than the front. With my highly unscientific measuring method the car now is aprox 25 /30mm lower(Front/back). The ride is also a little bit sportier than before. I hope it wont get to harsch when i change back to the 17" wheels(16" with winter tyres on now).

Pictures please... ;)

Why, Christian?

I don't know. I reported it in one of the other threads (why I chose a Skoda....) that mine did that. I think its because as standard the rear sits high, but with the springs it makes it more "level". Could be 1 of 2 things, the rear springs are shorter ( ;) ) or that the wrong fronts springs are on in terms of axle weight. There are 3 different front axle weight springs available for the Octavia, and no-one knows which is which :D

Didn't Jon (TaviaRS) post something about this with his experiences of lowering? He said it looked lower at the back.

The rear is a little bit lower with the standard springs as well. The "height ratio"(?) between front/back is still about the same as before but the overall height is lower. Hope you understand what I'm trying to say here =)

perhaps I should get the KW springs instead.. 50mm front and 35mm rear..

instead of the JSS springs 45mm all around.. hmm..

The Octavia does look much better with the rear higher than the front - you only have to look at the 4x4 Estate (Combi) to see what I mean! :D

Nice to see you out of hibernation, Christian. Are the bears awake too? lol.gif

I hope you are not trying to wind up the non-RS owners, Christian. It takes more than a few extra kw to do that successfully.

Absolutely not! I wouldn't dream of such a thing. Everybody makes mistakes but I don't have to rub it in ;) Or do I... Actually, my point was that we now know what frontaxle weight is acurate for the RS(= >911kg) The Octavias with the greatest frontaxle weight, I guess, would be the Tdi models.

:D

PS. Notice that no V was even close to RS ;) DS.

I'v now orderd H&R 50mm kit

And milotec styling stuff for about 500 euro :1:

RICE SKODA BABY!!

Will those 19s fit? If so will you have to remove your plastic arch liners and roll the wheelarch lips to stop the tyres rubbing?
