Car came back from it's first 15k service yesterday.

All good, no issues with the service, but some warranty work I asked to be checked over: electric/hydraulic boot struts replaced due to leaking and steering-wheel scroll-wheels replaced.

Both common failures with these cars apparently, but a bit concerning on a 6mth old car with such low km's, but hey, I have a 5year warranty!

Good that all went fine. Statistically speaking though, component failure rates are higher right at the start of a vehicles life before trailing off. Of course, during the latter part of its life they increase again as wear and tear take hold. Bathtub curve and all that.

What was the issue with your steering wheel scroll wheels?

The right-side (menu selection wheel) didn't work at all when scrolling, but the "press to enter" bit did work.  So I would scroll it round and round and round hoping that it would rotate to the correct menu screen I wanted.... but most times it would "land" on the wrong menu and I'd have to keep doing it until I managed to get it to the menu I wanted.

The left-side (volume) was starting to show signs of not working as well.

When I first got the car, each little "click" of the scroll wheel, actually made a change to the volume/menu.....

Apparently it's a common issue with these wheels/switches, so there was no issue with immediately replacing them under warranty.

I asked my dealer about the bleed/seepage on the power-boot struts and was told that a little moisture was within tolerance but to report back if it increased or the functionality was impaired.

To be fair, they have been really good at managing all my other minor niggles, so I will leave it at that for now.

Total niggle list to date with car just over 1 year old and with a shade under 20000km:

  1. Faulty front parking sensor going off randomly - replaced controller
  2. GPS not picking up signal - either software update on head unit or loose connecting wire
  3. Replacement of front door seals to later spec with draining hole in!
  4. Fuel line rattle at specific RPM - pumped some foam into the run I believe?
  5. slight dye/colour defect on front drivers seat - replaced seat base/cover with new one
  6. Few rattles/buzzes - fixed with varying degrees of success!

I now just have the one persistent buzz somewhere on the passenger front side when going over coarse tarmac and I think that is everything...for now.

What's this issue?

I haven't heard of different door seals..... I'd better check mine.

Do you have any pictures you can post, to show the seals and hole position, so I know what I'm looking for?

And how did you get them replaced?  Were you having leakage issues, or you just read somewhere that they should/could be replaced, so asked for it to be done?

Mine (and others) was giving me wet feet when opening the doors in the morning after rain or very heavy frost/dew. Water would run between the panel gaps and the interior seal and collect at the bottom between the door and sill. Wouldn't get any water in the car but would slosh out when you opened it. More pronounced if you parked nose-first on a downhill slope.

Was worried that it may start to be a corrosion issue or a problem if it froze and from researching the forums it was suggested that there was a newer seal with a drainage hole in.

Took it in and they were replaced.
