Poor MPG

Featured Replies

Just done a 700 mile round trip to the South and noted something quite surprising. When I left, I filled up with BP Ultimate and the average was 48mpg (quite briskoda driving). On the return journey, I couldn't for the life of me, find ANY BP Ultimate down South !! Even the big forecourts had none.

I filled up with BP Diesel (normal stuff) and the car returned 43mpg average under the same driving conditions.

The AmD One Click seems to like 'round town' driving as well. Returning up to 54mpg steady driving. Even at 70mph on the Motorway, I struggle to equal this.

BP Ultimate really is worth the extra price in the first place and is certainly NOT the same as the cheaper Diesels as some people might suspect.

May I just mention also, the One Click is just the business.

So what you're saying is BP regular diesel is pants compared to BP Ultimate ;) The "cheaper" diesels like Shell Diesel Extra seem to produce the same results as Ultimate but for regular diesel prices :D

You're just rubbing it in now!!

I can't get BP Ultimate near me. I use Jet and I get around 40 round town (Average 12 mph). I think that's pretty good. I got 32 in the Migraine. On a run over to my parents' in York I can get nearly 50!!

I see no difference at all with Shell

I use supermarket diesel and rarely return under 50 on my daily commute :D

I use supermarket derv and rarely see above 40 on my daily commute.

I'd cry! :(

I usually fill up at either Tesco or Shell as they are normally the same price, just depends which I'm closer to at the time :)

Last time out with the GF, we had a relaxed cruise around sout Scotland and over 200 miles I averaged 56mpg on the computer. My record is 60mpg average!

You must wear very heavy shoes!!

BP ultimate resulted in a consistant 33 mpg - every other fuel on the market was 37 mpg.

Now it is 55 mpg all the way...........

shell every time!!!!!

Well eat this boys, every time i come home from work i get 69-71 mpg regular, this evenin i got 73.3, lovin it lol probs no where nr that for real but nice to think lol

My long term MFA hovers around 43-44 mpg. :) Cruise helps on the motorway, especially if not set above 90mph. ;)

Type of diesel varies. JS usually gets my business but BP special stuff is going in next, and enough to see me to the POD with the fuel light on for minimum weight on Saturday. ;)

I'm a very bad boy sometimes. :o

Anyway, reading this, I'm trying Shell for a while to see what happens.
