Error in the Service Notification

Featured Replies

Car has only done 4000 miles in the 8 months since its first service (done early when I bought it). The inspection service indicator has now just popped on in time for the cars first birthday. I think the indicator was not reset at the service. Now booked in for a reset at the local dealer, while I wait. What a pain. The dealer seems to get bad reviews for this kind of error.

Are you sure they serviced it at 4 months old?

They wouldn't have had a reason to - did you get the service record print out to show it had been done?

Car had done around 15000 miles, high I know, but I wanted an early oil change and service doing as part of the deal. No print out as such, but a receipt and the electronic service record both show it. I did ask at the time if the service warning had been reset. Now we know.

if it's the former Gordon Lamb one at Chesterfield. They forgot to do mine.................twice. As did Hortons at Lincoln.

Yes, formerly Gordon Lamb and now is err..... I've had the problem with several VW group cars over the years. At least you could DIY with Mk II Octavias.

It will get me out of the house for a few hours.B)

you can reset it your self on mk III too:
