Standard vRS estate damper

Featured Replies

I reckon my original rear dampers are ready for replacing and wondered if anyone knew the OEM part number please?

Thanks.

I would buy Bilstein B4 dampers if you are replacing. The B4 are better than the oe dampers, as they are gas filled and not just oil filled. I think they are about 10 to 15 % firmer than than oe dampers. Plus you can buy a set front and rear for £190ish.

Do you have any idea where I could get a set for this price?

Would B4's be ok with lowering springs?

According to some of the research I've done, they would work with a drop of up to 40mm.  The B6 and B8 options are better in theory but from what I can gather the B4 is okay as a good all rounder.

I'm not creating a track monster so as a family barge a certain level of comfort would be better.  I'm also on a tight budget so I have to compromise on a regular basis.

They are from DPM performance but are actually nearer £210 and not £190; plus that is the price delivered.

I had originally thought about the B6 and that was my plan to fit them. But I am just staying with the B4. They do a B4 sport specifically for cars with lowering springs. I think they were slightly more but not stupidly more.

+1 for B4 sport, I purchased these from DPM and have them on my VRS hatch

Are yours 50 or 55mm diameter?

The diameter relates to the front shocks only and all vrs models will be using 55mm due to 312mm brake discs/hub set up.
