Help understanding fault code 001C76 please

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

The "Check engine light" keeps popping up while driving, sometimes when I start my Skoda Octavia Mk II - and even after having driven the car for a while. The light is constant, however. No flashing. I went out and bought a fault code reader to see if that might let me know what's going on. The code I found is 001C76. I just haven't been able to find anything close to that in any fault code lists. And I've googled, as well. Can someone tell me what this might be? Thanks.

Anyone? Thanks.

Are you sure that fault code is right? I doesn't look like a format I've normally seen for OBDII DTCs. It looks hexadecimal.

Edit: Is there any truncated description shown or any text with it?

Is the code reader in some mode it shouldn't be?  Have you successfully used it to read DTCs before?
