Help - Transport Mode active after repair

Featured Replies

Just had the VRS delivered back today on a flatbed from a paint shop and had a new headlight fitted...I wasn't there to take it but have just got into it tonight....check out the photo, it says my mileage is 95 TRA, none of the interior lights are working, radio not working - so doing some googling, it has gone into "Transport Mode".  Can a car automatically do this on a flatbed?

So, can anyone tell me, with them disconnecting the battery, 1) has this reset my odometer back to 95 miles?  aaaagh....also 2) how the hell do I get it out of transport mode..?  I really dont want the hassle of having to have the odometer reprogrammed with my old mileage, I cant believe they would return it like this....NATIONWIDE AUTOCENTRE BTW - Not my friggin choice.

Cheers for your help in advance - Doing my head in as been waiting 2 weeks for a car that now doesnt work!

The Repairers will have to get a Technician out to you to have the car sorted out.

So it will be down to them to get whoever they have qualified or if they get VW / Skoda Assist out.

Or they will have to be covering the cost if you have to take it to the Dealership on Monday.

Was it a Insurance Repair that it was in getting.

Call them tomorrow.

Yes mate,

Was an insurance repair, cant believe they would return it like this after being "Quality checked" apparently....So there you go...I hoped there would be a simple fix, I thought they had stuffed the ECU before I found out about this TRA thing, as never heard of it before. Cheers for your reply....

I had never heard of this until someone posted a few months ago having accidentally put their vehicle into the mode.  On some vehicles you were not able to re-activate after about 100 miles! Clearly, no such limit on the Octavia II.

It is possible you could get someone with VCDS who ought to be able to de-activate or could try disconnecting battery for 15 minutes as a long shot. But as some company has taken control and responsibility for your car and handed back in this state, probably best to follow official channels in case something else is not right!
