Fabia VRS 2013 plate, Blower fan issue

Featured Replies

Since Skoda put a new engine in, (VRS oil issue), my blower fan has stopped working on 1,2 and 3 settings... only blows a gale on 4

Any ideas please?

I thought perhaps it is a separate fuse for the lower settings and another for the highest... but can only see one fuse...

I hate going to Citygate...

I have full skoda warranty until November, but am hoping it may be something stupid that I can fix...

i had this problem was my heater resistor.

I have just had new fan as climatronic system is different and the whole dash has to come out. I think you have the resistor problem of old...

Usually, just speed three or four comes on as the resistor no longer "Resists".

First, and most importantly, disconnect the battery as you DO NOT want the air bag blowing up in your face...

Remove the glovebox, locate and find screws for air-bag, gently prise out air bag without too much force. You should with a little patience, find the resistor sticking out. There may be some insulating material in the way so gently budge that to one side.

Unplug the resistor, re-fit new one and re-fit the other components. The resistor plug may well have a double catch so you will need to prise open the first one in order to pull the plug. This is likely to be to stop the plug vibrating loose or becoming unplugged.

I think you may find a better, diagrammed sequence somewhere here or on youtube but failing that, it is quite an easy task really.

The resistors are around a tenner on eBay or £30 from Skoda.

I'd go for the eBay ones as they are no less likely to blow then the genuine ones.
