Just acquired a 2017 spaceback 1.2 tsi sport and there is a pipe clearly visible under the car. Visible from the rear wheel and about 60cm. Should it be there?

 

Do you see another pipe on the other side? It could be the rear brake pipe. On my car it seems to be low too. 

I reckon I've seen this on my Toledo, I'll check but seem to think it's handbrake cables.

^^^ Handbrake cables either side are low but shouldn't hang down, on mine they are clipped up. If you can see them hanging without actually getting on your hands and knees maybe they aren't clipped up properly.

Just checked mine as its dryer weather today. The right driver's side is hanging lower than the left passenger side. It's still on the hanger but lower down, i've managed to push it back up again but the hanger itself is a bit flimsy. Might do some zip cable tidy when i get around to it to tuck it back up a bit more.
