Which.......Bosch Mann crossland

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Going to to give the  fabia estate 19sdi a oil, fuel and air filter change.....it's currently got 208,000 miles on it. I got the car off my dad, this will be the second oil change I've done, but can't for the life of me remember which make of filters I opted for. I will be probably be buying them from europarts .....who sell Bosch , Mann and crossland.....roughly a couple of quid difference between the makes.

Should I opt for one over the other, which would you go for?

Also, I haven't changed the fuel filter before....I've spotted where it is and I'm wondering is it straight forward to do.

thanks for the advice

Id imagine all filters do exactly the same thing so it's personal preference. I myself like to stick with Bosch.

@Wuyang - Of the 3 cited makes, Bosch is the only one I've heard of before.

As I work in the motor trade I would recommend Mann Filters... Mann are the original supplier of filters to a large number of vehicle manufacturers, including VAG Group... In fact if you look at a genuine oil filter for instance it will be either Mann or Knect...

This is one picture I found on the internet, genuine filter with Mann logo...

Failing Mann I would then go for Bosch, again excellent quality... Crossland are more of an "aftermarket" filter rather than OE supplier... still good quality...

+1 for Mann oil filters,I think they are very good quality.

I am not quite so choosey about air filters so whatever is either available or on offer but would I personally would stick with Mann if possible.

Another + for Mann

Fitted a new air + cabin filter to my 320 and they have been fine.

Most of my OE filters are Mann made :D but Bosch should be fine too, not heard of Crossland personally.

get some mann filters, GSF usually do offers I had an oil filter, sump plug and air filter all delivered for £9

54% off code for GSF should anyone want it

I used all three brands Bosh and Mann are Excellent crossland is what I use as it is a good happy medium however if you have a performance vehicle stick with the man or bosch if you have a family car which is not being hammered too much and the oil is changed regularly then the crossland should be fine the difference is the weight and the material inside usually the Mann and Bosch will be slightly heavier and the quantity/quality/more pleats of the filter materials will be slightly better in the bosch Mann filter but the valves in the Mann and bosch will be metal the crossland may have a plastic one but Euro Car parts say they use the same manufacturer specs.

+1 for Mann here as well.

Crossland are more Euros budget line of filters iirc.
