Mudflaps

Featured Replies

Just about to order some old man flaps from super skoda for my new "somewhere in the U.K." Vrs. Before I do I just wondered if any one had fitted mk2 superb mudlaps on to a mk3 Octavia? Just I have some on my superb that I could simply swap over? Or are they a totally different fit? Any ideas.? Thanks...

Fitting second hand mudflaps to a brand new car REALLY ?

They wont fit from a Superb to an Octavia without some major fettling.

If you want a proper job, buy the proper ones. They only screw on, so they are easy to fit.

Will the dealer not chuck them in the deal for free?

If you ask the dealer for them, they will tell you they can't be fitted to the rear of a vRS. This isn't true as I'm sure you will have gathered if you've read any of the many other threads on the subject.

I have a 17 Greenline that has no mudflaps probably because they create a bit of drag.  Will the rear bumper be the the same as a non Greenline model so I can retrofit OEM mudflaps?

My car has rear mudflap, but no front mudflaps. What's the point of rear ones?

It's a FWD car, the rear is just there to prop the car up. If in mud and loss of traction happened, surely the front ones are more important to have?

Mudflaps aren't just for mud. The rear flaps also help direct the water spray from the rear wheels that can otherwise inhibit visibility for following vehicles when the roads are very wet.

Rear mudflaps were a legal requirement in Czech Republic, I believe to stop stones hitting windscreens, as they have hard winters with lots of mud/stones on the roads. This is probably why the Octavia has them, although strange some models dont.
