Spotify and Kodiaq

Featured Replies

Ok, so I picked up my Kodiaq and I love it, no question about that. But there´s a thing that bothers me. I left my 2015 Scout as a trade in and I had the Amudsen system in that one, just as I have in the Kodiaq.....Works great with the canton sound system but when I use Spotify or Google music the album art/covers dont show in the display. They did in the Scout and even in my 2011 Superb, but not in a brand new Kodiaq - just a Bluetooth sign. Not that it matters that much but I dont understand and want to know why it works in the old cars and not in a new. Anyone have any ideas?

Amundsen and Samsung Galaxy S7, also tried older models and the S8 - same result.

Do you not need to use USB cable connector rather than BT to get full details on display?

ps - I don't use spottiiifyy or any such stuff, but am happily playing music via old iPhone, SD card slots and the Jukebox - with pictures as and when available.

Seems to be the case on the Kodiaq but I dont understand why it works on the "older" versions of Columbus and Amundsen. Tried on Octavia 2015, Superb 2011, Tiguan 2010 and it works great. So, the new Amundsen seems to be a "downgrade" compared to the older versions. Just want to find out why that is and what has changed.

Pretty sure on my iPhone it showed cover art when connected via Bluetooth.

The earlier MIB units had the Gracenote database on them.

Can't comment on the current generation though as Skoda seem incapable of building my car :)

I've connected my phone via Android Auto to the Columbus system. Cover art shows up on Spotify.

Yes, with Android auto there´s no problem, works perfect The problem is with Bluetooth streaming. I prefer BT over having a cable connected and if it worked in "older" models, why not in the "flagship" one? But as Andyvee pointed out, it seems like they have removed the Gracenote database from newer cars. Would just like to know the reason behind this.

Personally, I prefer Android Auto for Google maps.
