Re-Mapping Queries

Featured Replies

Hey Folks just wonderingif anyone has gotten there car remapped for fuel consumption purposes, not interested for power! A company said they can guarantee a min of 10% even up to 20% in cases of better fuel consumption.

Any info good or bad appreciated.

In total, I've had 3 remaps and one tuning box.  None of them improved the economy of the car; none of them worsened it either...

All of mine have been performance remaps but  - even so - the advertising did "promise" better MPG.

I think you can achieve 20% by modifying your driving style; boring as f***, though.

My experience is exactly yours. I've had a tuning box and 2 remaps. No change to mpg at all, but a much better drive!

^^^^ This.

Map it and enjoy the loud pedal.

That is all.

Yeah, I'd echo all of the above, it makes it much nicer to drive and hard not to enjoy it so far. So far real world mpg is better by 1mpg, but I'm happy with that to be honest.

Do it, you won't regret it.

How much difference did it make to your insurance?

Depends on your history and overall discount level.

And not every insurer will accept it so it's possible you'll need to change insurance company.

The 170 drives much better with a (decent) remap on it, however despite the economy being slightly better you will never make back what the remap costs so it’s a pointless exercise IMO, for better drivability... do it, for purely economy... save your money.
