Spare wheel on Vrs

Featured Replies

Been fitted a set of Vrs alloys on my 1.4 16v quite some time now, but still carrying the spare wheel that original on 1.4 (i.e. 185/60/14). My friendly dealer did mention this problem during my Fabia's last service. So my problem is what is the wheel (steel!?) and tyres size of the spare wheel on your Vrs?

It's not a big deal if you treat it like a 'to get home only' tyre/wheel, but it's worth remembering the size is of course different so handling will be pretty much shot whilst 'on it'.

Didnt think it was illegal though, as long as the tyre has legal thread + the wheel fits, surely it shouldnt be a big deal? (worth giving an MOT centre a buzz I suppose if you want to be 100% sure)

would the overal size not be the same? ie alloy wheels are bigger, but tyre profile is less.

vRS doesn't have a steel spare.

vRS doesn't have a steel spare.

a vrs i looked at in glasgow had a steel spare, was an 05 plate but full size though, none of this space saver nonsense??!!

Yep overall rolling diameter should be pretty similar so you should be able to "limp-home" on it safely enough :D
