OCtavia III Facelift Pacific Blue 1.0TSI

Featured Replies

Hello All, I decided (with my wife) to get new car. No other brand offers liftback with such huge luggage space (I didn't want to have station wagon any more). As I am Czech, there was no other option than Octavia also because of limited budget. Due to fuel consumption and my driving style we chose 1.0 TSI engine. I'm highly impressed day by day how great choose we did. :D I just miss a small coding tuning and the car will meet my expectations. But I already JUST LOVE MY CAR!!!

Hi there, welcome.  The 1.0tsi is a great little engine.

Hi Superb170, thank you. ;) The engine is great for sure.  Many people in CZ have a problem with it, as it is quite new and too small (their opinion) in such a car. But I am not worried about it. We will see within 5 years as my warranty period is. :D But I love driving it as it is amazingly smooth and silent (sitting inside).

I often drive my wife's 1.0tsi Octavia and I agree with you on the silent and smooth ride.  Apart from the hint of a three cylinder engine when accelerating in first gear, it is a great package.  I would have concerns over the turbo and other running parts in a few years.  Only time will tell...

Exactly. I think once we will take care about maintenance and oil changes every 15K kms, than I would not be worried that much about it. ;) I gave my previous Peugeot to my father with drive over 260K kms with still original turbo and many parts. I guess a big part of it was 15K kms oil change and non extreme driving. :D

BTW, our wondering over 1.6 TDI engines or 1.2 gasoline engines was similar in the past (once those got on market).
