disable high beam with bi-xenon?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2014 skoda superb with bi-xenon afs and was wondering if anyone knows a work around to disabe the halogen high beam when lights on (so only the bi-xenon works) and let it enabled for flashes only. When I say a work around, I mean some vcds codes trick.

Also, does anyone know what type of xenon bulb we require on this model? D1S/D2S? The lights are white-bluish and nice as they should be from the outside, but from the inside, the color looks the same but they dont look very bright as other cars' xenon look like. I've read some topics here, people recommend osram 5000k and I would like to give it a try, but don't know exactly what type they are.

Pretty sure you'll have D1S bulbs.

I use Osram Xenarc Night Breaker Unlimited which are ~4350k, they give great light although aren't massively blue/white from inside. There is also the Osram Xenarc Cool Blue Intense at ~5500k which are well regarded. Overly blue lighting will reduce the amount you'll see so you might have reduced range with the CBI.

Have you got a VCDS autoscan to see what modules your car has? I have a few ideas of what might help with your high beam request. I assume it just for looks as personally I'd rather have as much light as possible on main beams.
