Pic of Blueflame on Fabia vRS please

Featured Replies

Hi,

Anyone running a Blueflame exhaust system on their vRS, could you post a rear end pic so I can see what the tail pipe looks like on the car?

Thanks.

Link not work!

This is what I was wondering after seeing the system off the car, in a ad pic, I was thinking the tail pipe was a bit big, and although I've ran BF systems before, I don't want anything MaxP or bean-can like hanging off the bottom of the car.

The Miltek looks quite subtle!!

:)

You can get a BF one with a different tail pipe if you prefer, IIRC they're custom made anyway, may have to pay a few quid more etc though. Give them a buzz, might be able to do you a deal.

The Milltek does look more subtle and originally I was going to get one of those but as the BF GB came along first post-insurance-sorting-out that's what I've ended up purchasing. Not fitted (yet) though but it didn't look too bad.

Considering there are proper 'loose your arm in here' size exhausts available as well, the BF isn't actually too bad IMHO :)

I've bought exhaust direct from BF before and haggling for a deal is in my nature, but I like to investigate and inderstand what I'm aiming for before I start haggling.

The pic above looks different to the one on Camskill.....

Personally i like the sublte styling of the miltek and i have been looking into getting a full system for a few weeks now but they are not cheap, you are talking around 500quid for a full system inc. cat replacement - will that "sports" cat pass the MOT? Also 500quid is alot of cash for an exhaust system so what sort of garunteed performance gains can be had by replacing the cat and the rest of the system? Enough to justify that sort of outlay?

Shifty's got the BF fitted to his. Fits in pretty well I reckon, looks a little like the Leon Cupra-R pipe to me. Sounds good too

Steve

It hasn't got any markings on the one that's to be fitted to mine - it's plain alu looking stuff from the top of my head, just a round hole.

As for performance gains - it allows for a little faster spoolup of the turbo, I suppose it may allow for the exhaust junk (soot) to get out quicker so it may look a little less smokey (notes Jason's video  )

It will make the car sound different, possibly slightly more noisy.

With the sports cat it will pass the MOT just fine, as it will pass with a straight-through pipe, even Jason's smoking monster (no offence) would pass MOT without a problem as you dont have it at full load & throttle on an MOT. That said I'd be surprised if it got anywhere near that :P

Is it enough to justify the outlay - IMHO probably not unless you like the sound, the look, or you've modded the rest of the vehicle a fair bit. It probably makes more of a difference when you get to the limits of a remap.

On the plus side, it's pretty much very good quality stuff that should last for the time you have the car without rusting (at least I hope it does :D )
