old btcc race

Featured Replies

I remember watching that race. It was much more exciting back then.

Can't see videos etc at work but BTCC used to be a hell of a lot more entertaining in the '90s. Although if you want to see "entertaining" in a "what a prat" way have a look at some of Frank Sytner's M3 racing in late 80s in the BTCC - his basic method seemed to be all out attack even if someone else was in the way ... and then blame them when it all ended in tears :) .

Those were the days when touring car racing was fun to watch and there were more than just a handful of manufacturers taking part

Watching Rickard Rydell race in the Volve 850 estate was so much fun - and you thought that Volvo estates were for old men in flat caps  ;):D

Tarquini's crash in the Alfa looked spectacular (and damn painful  )

Brilliant, it was just a train of cars.

Reminds me that I must watch the videos I purchased last year, the whole lot from 1988-2000 :)

Wipes away tears of nostalgia :weeping:

I can remember the days of Production Saloon races at Ingliston in the 1970's - Dolomite Sprints, 3-litre Capris, etc. Great fun. Also total nutters :D :D
