fabia VRS 2010 spark plugs change ratio

Featured Replies

How often would you change your plugs on this model of car? and out of interest what is the best uprated plugs to buy and how many ? I can then perhaps get a garage to fit them rather than garage direct spark plugs.

Thanks,

Dan

Have you looked at the plugs yet and seen what is fitted. Or there is some invoice showing when changed or what was fitted?

With a CAVE engine maybe best get the correct DENSO spark plugs rather than OEM NGK's.

Have them set to 0.7 mm & then it depends on how you use your car because they can be good for 20,000-30,000 miles, but you might want to check at 10,000-15,000 miles.

Lots of threads posted in the Fabia Mk2 section on them, and a pinned thread up top in the Fabia Mk2 section.

4 spark plugs, and maybe best leave changing them to someone that knows what they are doing and not that just says they have done loads,

the coils need treated with care and the 'O' rings and seals for the Turbo pipe and breathers.

Very easy to mess up, and even main dealers have been known to do that.

Ok so got some denso plugs iridium for my car x4 wen you say adjust to 0.7mm a garage does this? Then fits ..

The plugs come pre-set, but you do not just stick them in if you care about doing the job right, you check they are all the same,

be that 0.8 mm which used to be the OEM Plug setting before VW Group changed that to 0.7 mm

If the DENSO you get are at 0.8mm then as well to leave them as some handless techs or DIY mess closing the gap.

A professional should know their job from the training they got.

BLUESPARK Tuning Box guys and other tuners advise 0.6mm plug gaps, personally i have never set at that for a Twincharger even at Stage 1 or Stage 2.

SO if at 0.8mm to leave and that be ok or if garage can do it set to 0.7mm as you mentioned before.

What DENSO plugs did you buy?

Likely you got them already set at 0.7mm,    speak to who is changing the plugs.

Be sure the ones removed are kept in order so they can be closely inspected.

Really important is they seal the Turbo Pipe and Breather pipes when refitting.

PS

If you have to tell a Tech or Mechanic how to do things you are maybe using the wrong Tech or Mechanic.

@Awayoffski yeah the denso iridium tough spark plug VK20, Yeah will ensure things are kept mint.

Best leave as they come. Just the gap of all 4 checked.

Euro Car parts supply them,

i have never used those but other members have and not reported issues.
