Expatman... I would be too embarassed to call out  AA or any other roadside assistance lol. I'm the one who calls such unfortunates naughty names when I see it happen, OK for the fairer sex, but not for us 'macho-men' types.

Llanigraham.... I wonder how many people get caught out then? If those skinny spacesavers  (advertised as correct fitment for 2wd Yeti) are already in peoples boots, & they are blissfully unaware of the potential dangers (& legalities). P.S. the seller has sold quite a number of same.

Mally.

Hi Wheelie, I am well past the macho -man stage! Also value my life too much to consider changing a wheel by the side of a busy road, especially using a little jack and wheel wrench. According to the police it's also one of the most dangerous things a motorist can do.

Incidentally I do change all four wheels twice a year to swap summer to winter tyres/wheels, but that's done in the safety of my drive using a proper trolley jack, spider wrench and torque spanner - with a breaker bar in back-up in case one of the wheel nuts gets obstinate.

I've always thought the boot floor is a bad design,if it was made so that the outer rim of the spare could fit face down the cavity on the inside of the wheel could be used for extra storage but perhaps it's on the limit anyway.

My two previous fabia's were exactly like that, outer rim down & tool-kit inside (on top). This is on both Fabia1 &2, but like you say, 'it's on it's limit'.

Mally.
