Morning all, I'm looking at getting a used Superb but as specs have changed over time is there a way of telling via Reg number exactly what the spec is?  Or at the very least what was standard fit then compared to now if its changed?

 

I'm looking at a December 2016 Superb L&K Estate if that helps?

the current brochure also doesnt help e.g. Canton sound system is listed as standard in the text and optional in the table!

I take it Dec 16 is the registration date but can you confirm the Model Year, i.e. MY17?  See if you can follow this link.  It was a spec I put together round about Dec 16 and should give you most of the stuff:

Canton has been std on an L&K since the introduction of the S3 and is definitely standard at the date you mention.

 

Best to get a detailed build spec from the supplying dealer to be certain of what was built. Things like which type of headlamp systems is fitted. Does it have the 'whiskers' in the front DRL for example will tell you whether you have the all singing, dancing lights?. (all have AFS but the fancy light pattern and/or auto high beam was an option) Does it have the tv tuner? (they did at first but then became an option).  Does it have smartgate, mirror link?

 

You could then ask specific questions on here before purchase.
