To enable the Coming home / leaving home function all the time.

By following the below instructions the DRL strips + rear tail lights will come on whenever you unlock the car (irrelevant of the outside light condition or the position of the light switch)

 

They will stay on as long as the car is unlocked (irrelevant of ignition position).

If you leave the car unlocked and don’t do anything, they will go out completely after around 10 mins.

They will go off around 1 – 2 seconds after you lock the car.

Once the ignition is switched on everything returns to normal, once the car is locked everything returns to normal (if you leave the side lights on or the park lights on for example)

 

As always mods are carried out at your own risk.

This can be easily disabled if the car is going in for work and you don’t want the lights on all the time whilst they are working:

That will revert everything to normal, no need to do anything else

@xpower wow thanks for posting this guide. I asked a question some time ago on whether  DRLs could light all the time on unlock and I'm sure the response was that it couldn't be done.

 

Does this coding also prevent/override the dipped beam coming on when dark?

With this mod just leave the lights in the off position.

it will still work and the lights won't come on until you turn them on

hi, i have got as far as the rear lights in my coding but when i have tested they are working, the lights stay on all the time, even when turned off. and moving. Can anyone suggest where i may have gone wrong?

I have done your mod and love it for the most part !  there is only one thing.

I use the car as a company car and sometimes i need to wait on location in my car. So the lights are all the timne on.

 

So i coded the drl front and back to go with interior lights.

to make it work, the lights will come on when unlocking the car. And also stay on when you are leaving the car just like your interior lights do.

 

For Coming / Leaving Home functionality, I would like to have only the front fog lights activated. So, I coded the fog lights to lit up, both do next to the normal headlights.
But I would like only to have the fog lights lit up, not the normal headlights. How to code these headlights to OFF in my Skoda Octavia IV for CH/LH?
