ABS sensor

Featured Replies

Hi all has anyone had the joys of trying to remove one out of the rear wheel without any damage or complete strip down of the wheel hub.

If so can you help please a can't remove mine thanks.

remove wheel studs , jack it up , hit the tyre from the inner side with a big hammer, turn a 1/4 turn , hit it again with a big hammer and  keep repeating until the wheel falls off. Take care not to hit the wheel or the rim will be damaged.  Give the centre edges a wipe with a copperslip or similar when putting the wheel back on to prevent future problems

I take it the hex bolt won't come out?

has it been rounded?

The bolt came straight out no problem just can't get the sensor out

Your lucky with the bolt.

Sensor will need to be tapped out from other side :/

Then clean the hole up for new sensor.

personally I'd be tapping it with hammer and flat head screwdriver until you get some movement, doesn't matter if you chip away bit by bit if your replacing it anyway.

I also had a problem removing it. It is quite stuck with all the elements accessing the metal that holds it.

So what i did was i didn't remove it at all. I cleaned it and the hub ring as well as i could and it got sorted for me.

To clean it you can use some screwdriver together with some clothe, just be careful since the ring can be damaged.
