Polisher help

Featured Replies

Hi

May be lucky enough to receive a polisher as a gift, I have browsed ebay and amazon and I think i have found one that suits me

http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dodo-Juice-Buff-Daddy-Das-6-Orbital-Machine-Polisher-Free-Supernatural-Sealant-/311101855761?hash=item486f1d9811%3Ag%3AJbcAAOSw8GtZO8jp&_trkparms=pageci%3Afea8285a-795a-11e7-a405-74dbd180f7cc%7Cparentrq%3Aaf20a4a915d0a888e8a78249fffffc6d%7Ciid%3A8

Is this polisher

1)safe to use and wont strip paint

2) Powerful enough to remove swirls

3) If anyone has one would they recommend it?

Sorry if the questions are a bit daft or they made you loose braincells but i have never used nor had a polisher

Thanks

1, yes

2, yes

3, I use a das 6 pro for 3" work and its a great little machine that's very similar to this

it'll do the job, I would opt for the das6pro as It has a bigger motor so wont get bogged down as easy.

pretty much impossible to damage paint with a DA but it can be done, I was do some reading if you're unsure on how to use one.

best practice I did before using it on my car, brought a old bonnet from the scrap yard and went to town on that.

bit of advice, start with the lowest abrasive compound and work up to removing the swirls

Hey Rob. Did you need to change the counterweight on your m/c when down sizing the size of you backing plate ?

Thanks .

No I just changed the backing plate and it runs perfectly fine

That's good to know Rob. I'm Waiting for a 3.5" backing plate (as well as some other goodies) to arrive from polished bliss and was hoping I could get by with the original counterweight.  I have heard some people reporting that excessive vibration is common. Fingers crossed.
