What is it worth

Featured Replies

Hello,

Long time no see, mainly due to lack of time but also I had no problems with my car thus no need to seek for help.

However the time has come to sell the car and I was wondering, what is it worth. Cannot find too many of these on Autotrader and offical guides are only.. guides.

What would you say, what is worth Superb mk2, 62 plate (first registered end of September 2012), Elegance estate, 1.8TSi, in grey metallic paint. Car has been serviced by main Skoda dealers (Workington and Liverpool). It has ~84k miles and is in a good condition, I'd say above average taking into account age and mileage. In August 2016 it had replaced front discs and pads and rear pads (Skoda Liverpool). I have been offered as part exchange £5600 with after market alloys, so assuming I can resell Skoda 18" Luxon and few other bits and bobs, so in total I should get ~£6k. Is it about right? Or is the car worth more?

I will add my ad in Sale thread but don't want to come with ridiculous price and would like to know your thoughts...

Thanks,
Luke

Ridiculously cheap for such a rare, lovely car, albeit the 1.8TSI engine is supposed to be troublesome, but if that's the guide price, then I guess it's right. I'd think you'd get a better price selling privately.

Yeah, price does seem low. And whereas it is troublesome 1.8TSi, I'd say it is OK engine and car. Got the car tested and it returned 182HP, so as many TSis it comes with a nice gift from the factory.

Well, I gather after so many responses to my post ;), there is not much interest in Superbs mk2 1.8TSi, so will have to part exchange it...

Give it a little more time - you only posted 24 hours ago! It certainly looks to be in excellent condition. Have you owned it from new? GLWS.

Imb

when is the car due to be px'd

not many people have access to used car prices, have you tried WBAC.com ( tread carefully though take ' offer ' price with a large pinch of salt ) but gives a further valuation

I recently sold my wife's Fabia, I got more direct contact from the for sale ad than the enquiry like this one, rarer spec or engined versions are harder to value but it needs to be advertised extensively to attract viewing prospect buyers

These are pics when the car was brand new :).

With a little time I believe it can be brought to very similar condition. Car to be p/x end of September/mid October, so I expect value to drop again. Thus price from a dealer seems reasonable, as I am allowed to put more miles and keep the car till the new arrives.

Car owned from new, I am the only owner. Many miles (up to ~65k) were motorway miles. Now car does ~40 miles a day 70% A roads and 30% around town. Still under extended warranty :).

I tried WBAC and without seeing the car they "offer" ~£5800. So minus they fee and they always find something, they will offer more or less what I've been offered already.

That is stonking value and it's a petrol car....tides are changing and petrol cars moving up in demand with all the diesel debacle. 1.8 TSi lump fine if correctly maintained (as yours is). Stick it on pistonheads too.....good luck with the sale.
