Freedom members get an enhanced mailbox limit and I don't think Mike has fully used it so increasing the allowance wouldn't really be of any benefit to him.

Also with reference to Honorary membership, that's usually something given to ex staff members. 

I'd also echo the previous thoughts that Briskoda would benefit greatly from Mike's return but the final decision will always be his.

How about we extend the honorary membership to Mike as a way to get him back. I take the meaning differently to what it is and in his honour we invite him to contribute further to the forum. Sometimes it take a large gesture to make people see things differently. I hate to say it but the forum was a lot busier with people like Mike on it. Can't put a price on that myself.

Right - some bad news and some good news.

 

Mike is humbled at all the attention which has been bestowed upon him - however he has informed me that he will not be returning to Briskoda in the near future.

As a consequence, Mike has therefore asked that the thread be locked as he feels that undue pressure is not conducive with his decision at this moment in time.  This is not to say he will never return but it will be at a time of his own, measured choosing.

 

The good news is that he is still active with VCDS & VCP and is more than happy to help out members if they give him a call on his mobile. Existing friends will no doubt already have his number but he has said that it may be passed on to others if the need arises.

Thought I would update this thread rather than start another:

 

I have spoken to Andy ( @Auric Goldfinger)  who assures me that he is doing fine throughout this difficult time but is taking a break from Briskoda for a few weeks, Andy has also been in contact with Mike ( @mikeholroyd ) who would like to pass on his best wished to all that know him.
