Unlocked the car in the dark for the first time in a long time the other day and noticed the interior lights did not come on when I pressed the unlock button or opened a door. The internal boot light worked, and the lights came on when I removed the key from the ignition at the end of my journey.

 

Is this a common problem or is it going to be a pain to fix?

Have you actually got the light switch in the 'activated by doors' position? 

That's a good question. I haven't knowingly turned it off, but will check.
