Knocking over speed bumps. Anti roll bar link/bushes?

Featured Replies

Noticed recently car is knocking when going over speed bumps. It did this when I first bought it, and the new noise sounds similar to previous.

im sure first time around the anti roll bar links and/or bushes needed replacing.

I don't think I have the experience to change them myself, but is it easy enough to have a look and see if they are broken before I take it to a garage to be fixed

Turn steering wheel to full lock to see ARB bush from outside.

Ask someone to push car forth-back, applying force to upper side of rear door/roof meeting place.

Watch ARB jumping up-down, if bush is gone.

OEM bushes costs nothing / easy to replace; just choose them 2mm smaller than diameter of ARB.

Usually I hear dead ARB bushes on cobblestone roads but not on speed bumps, hmm...

During last 10 years / 240k km I've noticed that mainly ARB bushes (but not ARB links) are 1st ones to be checked when abnormal sounds in front appears.

!!! Of course, ARB links are worth checking too.
