bluetooth problem

Featured Replies

This is an intermittent problem, when a call comes in, I press the green answer button on the balero screen head unit, and sometimes it refuses to answer, I have restarted the phone, and even delated it from the unit and reinstalled it, but it keeps happening, samsung galaxy note 4 is there a software update available for my 2016 unit. I think I'm right its the bolero unit without sat nav, miss having the steering wheel button for answer,

I am now trying it with auto answer to see if it makes any difference. why they didn't put a dedicated button on the side ????

Did you get anywhere with this?? My phone or radio is playing up at the moment. Phone connects to car when I get in, then looses the connection, then gets it then drops it constantly!

Tried removing and re adding the phone. Still does it, I'm going to trial it tomorrow with the wife's phone, see if its the car or my phone! I hope its the latter as the radio problem could be pricey :/

Did you solve your bluetooth issue ? Mine has stopped working completely, I have scoured the web trying to find the location of the bluetooth module in the Mk3 Octavia, without any success.

I even asked the main dealers [ in Norwich ] and they said it was under the drivers seat, which it is not.

I suspect it may be somewhere deep in the dash, behind the radio unit [ Amundson ]. But as I can find it I can't check the connections etc.

Very frustrating.

@Elimay in a MK3 Octavia it's probably built in to the headunit.

Thanks langers2K, I suspected that was the case, very odd that the main dealership didn't seem to know where it was.

I had a towbar fitted recently and, as part of that the radio /media unit had to come out to access the fuse box. Mine's an Amundsen (2015MY) and the box is in the top of the glovebox (has a CD slot and 2 x SD card slots). While it was out I noticed it had a bunch of Bluetooth logos on it, so that's where the BT stuff is, in the main box of gubbins in the glovebox area.

Not sure anything will be user servicable in there. Have you ever updated the firmware on the Amundsen? Might be worth a try.

Many thanks Machogrande, I actually looked online today to see how to remove the glovebox front cover.

I will take a look tomorrow to see if you are onto something.

Re the serviceability issue, all I want to do is unplug it and reconnect it as I read this could resolve the problem.

I checked the firmware and there are none available for my car.

Did you check that on the Skoda portal? It will tell you there's no new firmware, but there is a new version available 'unofficially'. If you search for "Amundsen MIB 1 firmware" in this forum you'll find the thread. Ask there and you will receive :)

Another thing you can do if hold down the infotainment power button for about 10 seconds - this will force a complete reset. don't worry, you won't lose any settings.

Thanks again, really appreciate your help.

I tried the reset option, sadly it didn't make any difference.

I will try the software upgrade later and see if that works.

Before you start updating software, it might be worth getting it scanned with VCDS or similar.

If there are any error codes they might give you some clues rather than guessing :)

VCDS ? I assume this can only be done at the main dealers.

ODIS is what a dealer would use.

VCDS is a very good 3rd party tool made by rosstech.

Quite a few forum member have VCDS and are happy to help out other members, myself included. There are a couple of threads to help you find them:

https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/262215-list-of-vcds-owners-previously-known-as-vag-com-vcp-owners/

Your profile doesn't give a location but you mentioned Norwich so I assume you're based somewhere around there?

There are a couple of members in Norwich, otherwise Eddie-nl is based in Great Yarmouth and I'm over in Swaffham.

No, VCDS will give you a list of all errors just the same as a dealer would (at a fraction of the price)

I am near Wymondham.

Understand now what you are refering to, apols for my ignorance.

No worries :)

If you want me to do a scan, drop me a PM and we'll go from there.

Sorted mine by changing my phone to one on the list, only downside the HTC M9 doesn't have auto answer, and the battery life is cr@p.

Any suggestions from the lists of phones, with long life battery with auto answer please

Thanks again Langers2K That is very kind of you offer, and hopefuly it would pinpoint the problem.

How shall I contact you ?

Hi Skippy41. My problem ia definately the car. I cannot turn the bluetooth facility on at all. We also have a VW Polo and our phones are fine in that car.

A PM (private message) is probably best.

If you click on my name it should take you to my profile and there will be a green 'message' button.

Hi Skippy41,

Ive got an Oct 3 with Columbus and normally pair 2 phones to it (my personal Samsung S7 Edge and my works Sony Experia).  At least 4 times since owning (6 weeks ish) I've had a call come through on the Sony and it rings through the car Stereo but I am unable to answer either via touch screen or steering controls. Weird thing is after the phone stops ringing the ring sound still comes through the stereo and the only way to stop is to scroll to decline on the Mid.  From that point on the Sony connects to the car but if a call comes in it won't work through the stereo (even though it shows as being connected).

only wat to fix has been to delete the pairing and then re-pair.  I've never had an issue with the Samsung so assumed it was a Sony phone issue?

On another note the Samsung doesn't seem to Wireless charge on the mat under heating controls even though their is a phone icon there.
