Limiting top speed

Featured Replies

Is there any way of limiting the vehicles top speed with the use of the VAG-COM?

I seem to remember that you may have been able to do it on the octavia by means of it's aircon control panel, but not sure about the fabia.

The rev limit is set in the engine ECU. It can't be changed with VAG-COM nor via the Climatronic panel, but it can be changed by remapping the ECU. Lemmiwinks allows the input of an additive offset to speed limiter but I am not sure if any changes can be stored permanently. Perhaps one of our Lemmiwinks users can advise.

Yes this can be done via Mapping, Jim at Starperformance gave us a demonstration of his rolling road capabilities at the last RR day with SCN, He has been asked on several occasions to limit the top speed on a car by a worried parent etc,

Unfortunatly limiting the car to 70 then using momentum to make you go faster is possible, the reason Jim refused to appear in court as a young lads witness who had been caught speeding whilst 'limited'

i'd go for the thicker floor mats method
