Toolkit Jacks

Featured Replies

Guys, I see the standard toolkit jack for the S3 is a scissor jack.

Is the other (older?) type of jack still OK in an emergency, or are the way it mounts different and therefore at risk of damaging the car ?

The scissor jacks are convenient for lifting on the designation sill lifting points. A bottle jack will damage the sills, but will be okay on suspension points etc.

You can use a ice hockey puck for £2 adapted to lift on the sill.

Sorry I meant the other jacks supplied in the toolkits like this one:

As long as it fits on the sill weld it should be fine.
