18" Gemini Anthracite Alloy Wheel Wanted

Featured Replies

Hi All

My vRS TSI DSG is getting built next week :dance:

I'm going abroad hopefully with it next year and would prefer to take a full size spare with me.  There doesn't seem to be any to buy on Ebay or anywhere else for that matter.  If anyone is changing theirs and wants to sell one, please bear me in mind.  I would prefer new or good as new condition with good tread.  I'm in no hurry and have cash waiting.  Thanks!  Peter.

They were in short supply, and quite expensive, but that may have changed.

Also consider the steel spare wheel, its a lot cheaper. Doesnt look as good, but in an emergency is that a problem?

www.mytyres.co.uk does steel spares with tyres, at a good price.

I decided it was stupid to wait if I was going to buy a wheel eventually.  I gave up on Ebay etc cos there's none to be had.  I've bought a new Gemini alloy from Burns Car Sales, Skoda Parts Ireland.  227 Euros including delivery, so just under £200.  When it arrives and I'm happy, I'll get the jack set from Horton's @ £41 inc del and then buy a tyre to match those the car comes fitted with.  I think that's Pirelli P Zeros, but happy to be corrected.

If I'm in the middle of nowhere in Europe next year I want the peace of mind of a proper wheel, not a skinny.  I don't think that I will have any trouble selling the lot after 3 years when my lease ends.  Cheers all!

That is a good price, I was quoted closer to £330 from local dealers. I have used Skoda Parts Ireland before and their prices are very good. Just a shame about the euro/GBP exchange rate these days...

The ad said that there was 46% off.  I took that with a pinch of salt but if the stealer wants £330 then it's a bargain!!  It's nice to hear that you've used them before.  I was a bit concerned about that, I must admit.  Yeah, the exchange rate is pants, isn't it?

Yeah used them for the rubber boot mat which was about half the price of a UK dealer, and also the mudguards for front and rear - again considerably cheaper.

Priced up a single Gemini with dealers late last year after a simple puncture repair ended up with a severely damaged alloy. Tyre Garage replaced it with a new one at their expense but was curious to know how much they were to replace.

Do you have a link for the wheel. I need to replace one of mine before I hand it back.

Wheel arrived today via DPD.  Well packed, brand new, undamaged and all sparkly

When you buy from an unknown company, especially off the mainland, its a concern so I thought I would post this successful completion up in case it helps anyone else.  Thanks too to everyone who commented!

How long did your new alloy take to arrive from Ireland?

Thanks.

You got the wheel before the car ?

Do you sit on it & do pretend driving with a fake steering wheel?

Go on tell you make the noises too !!
