Stranger things happen at sea

Featured Replies

There we were in our Superb Elegance Mark 2 on the car deck of a ferry that was soon to arrive in France. The man in the next car had an Audi S3 with a power output that he had proudly told me was 310bhp. It was red and bright and brash, and wasn't he happy with it. Our fellow travellers were getting ready for their holiday adventures. We stayed in our car waiting for the boat to dock while our Audi friend got out, walked to the front of his car and stooped down towards his front lights. He then started tugging away at a piece of plastic and dabbed a strip of it across one of his headlights. He repeated the exercise on the other light. I watched on while flicking through my dashboard controls to press the ‘travel mode’ setting on the information display. Job done. How rewarding that my almost seven year old Superb had more sophisticated lighting controls for foreign travel than this chap’s three year old Audi S3.

He's a numpty. The S3 has the same setting as your superb in the lighting menu. Sorry to disappoint you.

Out Golf R also has the same setting

Indicator stalk? Salesman told me my Elegance has automatic lights. WTF's an indicator stalk for?  Isn't there an app to do all this?

I knew that had to be it.  A dirty little Reliant Robin told me that Skodas happen when the Audi's do filthy things behind the bike sheds...
