Climatronic Reset/Calibration

Featured Replies

Does anyone know which buttons need to be pressed to perform a reset and calibration of the heater system on a 2013 Fabia Mk II?  The climatronic unit is the one that has an A/C button, not ECON.

Thanks

Hi, when you look at this post, scroll the page up and at the bottom, you may see a few issues people have had with climatronic. It may help but one issue seems to be people operating the system,m too soon after switching on the car. Start up, leave the system to self check a few mins then set any desired settings.

As for a manual calibration, I am unsure if you mean set differing temp/fan speeds to auto or an actual recalibration of the system. I believe they are self setting to a certain degree (No pun intended there).

Hi, thanks for the links.  The problem that I have is that the recirc flap motor hunts to and fro all the time unless on recirc.  It is possible to get the flaps to re-calibrate their stoke length by performing a climatronic re-calibrate.  On earlier models this was done by pressing the Econ button and forward air buttons together.  What I would like to know is what buttons need to be pressed to start the re-calibration on the later model that has an A/C button rather than ECON.  I have tried all sorts of combinations without success.

I get you... have you tried asking a techie at Skoda? Your local dealership might be able to offer some insight as its not really a dealer only job if it can be done by pressing buttons etc.

I have found my local guys to be helpful on many occasions over the phone, rather then needing the car in for costly diagnostics, if its only just a starting point even!

Sounds silly but have you tried disconnecting the battery for a few mins and then connecting again... Might perform this calibration in the same way the stereo and the ECU self check.

Hutchysrs50 might be able to help, but i cant really remember who all was up in how to reset / calibrate.

But there is a thread someplace in this section unless moved to 'Guides'.

A few years back after reading it i messed about and hold the 2 buttons that the 'guide' told you to, then through pure luck and messing about after lowering the 'Low' Settings temp i got it back working as Factory setting.

EDIT,

found the thread from the time i messed about with the A/C.,  just need the original now...

@MartinP8 Hi Sorry I know this is an old post but I'm experiencing the exact same issue as you now and was wondering if you sorted it?

I tried the button reset too but I have a 2015 model with AC button but no effect

Another round of Googling and I found a Youtube video on how to reset the climate controller.

https://youtu.be/hE6t9i4Eg0c

This is the procedure for resetting Climatronic units in a Skoda Fabia Mk2 and Roomster in the later models. If your air-con purges away or goes hi-low when in auto (at a fast rate), then the system may benefit from a recalibration. (I have added NOTES to the instructions for greater clarity and also because my experience was slightly different)

1. Ignition to 2nd turn (NOTE dashboard indicators on, but engine not running)

2. Wait for the climate control system to start up (NOTE usually some muffled movements of flaps)

3. then press and hold a/c, face fan, and windscreen clear (max up) (NOTE you might need to first turn the fan to maximum for this procedure to work.)

4. NOTE Once the screen and face and foot symbols start to flash you can release the buttons. The symbols will flash for 45 seconds whilst the climate control system runs through all it internal checks and and resets / re-calibrates settings.

5. Job done

I performed this reset after I had been out in the car for a couple of hours and it improved the situation the next time I drove the car. I now get heat when setting the temperature control to something else other than HI. However it appears I have to set the temperature higher than pre-fault settings e.g. 25 degrees instead of 22 degrees. I shall go through the reset process again when the car is cool (both internally and externally) my theory being that the external ambient temperature sensor probably contributes to the recalibration process. I garage my car so I plan on performing the reset/recalibration process after leaving it overnight.

I'll let you know!

Oh, one other 'feature' my climatic system has exhibited periodically since new (2014) is that after I have switched off the engine for a short period and restarted, the display for the climate control goes completely blank - no symbols showing. They come back on (usually defaulting to A/C on full blast) when I press any button. This condition occurred several times in one journey (with stops) since I performed the reset.
Anyone else had this problem?
