Dodgy Cruise Control

Featured Replies

I've got a 2014 1.6 diesel Octavia. Great car, one problem: very occasionally with cruise control in the standby position, i.e. a speed set but the control is not activated, the control will switch itself on! It's happened a few times during motorway driving: the control has been used and then deactivated; having been driving for a while at a constant speed the car will suddenly speed up and a glance reveals that the  cruise control has reactivated itself. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks

It sounds like the enable/set+/set- button you have to press to activate cruise control is broken.

I'm assuming you have standard cruise (I'm not too familiar with the controls for this as I have ACC with the independant stalk).

I guess a garage should be able to test the output from the switch quite easily & if it is just this a replacement stalk shouldn't cost so much to replace.

Its not something I've heard about on the forum before.
