Yeti False Floor Boxes

Featured Replies

Hi

Apologies if this is a dumb question but checking my wife's new Yeti to make sure it had a tool kit (tucked away under the wheel) I noticed that the polystyrene surrounds of the tyre / false floor have shapes in them... are we missing parts? or have these been designed for other skoda 'accessories' ??

she's sure one of the shapes in the 2nd pic is for a GHD Hair Drier !!

Just seemed a bit strange that they are not just square boxes?

Any help appreciated

Takes the removable towball in one and it looks like a tyre pump would fit in the other.

That's one of the reasons you had to spec a spare wheel if you wanted a factory fit towbar in the runout model I bought. (So didn't as it makes the boot too small for my use)

Its different to mine. I have the tools in the removable box. Yours looks like it takes a removable towball.

thanks chaps, that makes sense... so I'm not missing anything i paid for... these are extras at the time of spec-ing the vehicle.

I think that is the latest version for Yeti's with an adblue tank:thumbup:

These polystyrene atrocities were the first thing to go in the local skip when we collected our new Yeti Drive 1.2DSG in March.

The sheer amount of space they took up was crazy. We now have boots, cagoules, tyre pump, dog balls, and other useful stuff under the boot floor. The spare wheel can't move anyway.

Wasted space in our view. Space put to better use. I cut a matching piece of marine ply to match the fabric boot floor to strengthen it popped it in under it to give a bit more firmness, and it all works very well.

The problem with discarding the polystyrene is that it supports the flimsy boot floor - the ply should make a big difference though. It's a shame you don't get the sturdy  floors of old - My old 1990 Passat Estate had metal covers below the carpet!
