tdi-tuning box (analogue or digital?)

Featured Replies

Normally the digital ones are adjustable - this makes no mention so I'd guess it was a resistor mod that's well packaged.

Looks like a digital one. However I believe the analogue mod to be much better! It makes the car more driveable, gives a great deal more performance below 2500rpm and MPG is unaffected! I currently have both an analogue and digital box on my car, more info can be found here: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia/47478-1-4-tdi-engine-tuning-guide.html

Hard to tell as there's not a lot of info. Analogue and digital can both be adjusted, and it does have a serial port connector which could be used to updating a map. Best to drop them an e-mail and see what they say. RRP is around

cheers for the answers guys, I'll drop 'em a PM and see how they reply.....

It's definitely analogue. If it were digital at that price they would be shouting about it, talking about microprocessors, chip technology etc etc.

Don't be fooled by the clever packaging.

I have had both in the past, and i wouldn't pay more than

Analogue for my money mate.

The connectors are the type that plug into the fuel temp sensor. Digi ones fit on to the larger round connector that goes to the fuel rail.

you knowlegeable people are correct! it's analogue... here's the reply I got from the seller... at least they're honest, though still trying the sales pitch, bet it fools people though being packaged to look like a digital box!

Hello, Our PD system is Analogue. We use this system as it does not require additional power from your battery and therefore ensures that your existing wiring loom does Not need modification and the complete system can be installed/removed within 5 minutes without the need of tools. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. Regards Steve. [email protected]

ah, well, thought I'd stubled on a cheap bargin! lol....

If you can afford it the digital boxes are much better.......Dragon ones do work well

For anyone interested I may have a digital tuning box for sale in the near future (2-3 weeks) as seen on http://www.diesel-torque.com/ (RRP is £275 but I open to offers - PM me)

Yeah, fair enough, but you do need feckin tools to get anywhere near the wiring loom in the first place.

I have removed mine 4 or 5 times now, and it is getting easier, although i wouldn't like to say how many times i burnt myself on the oil filter, and lifted the skin from my knucles on the first couple of attempts!!!

Fitting them on the fabia is a piece of **** and takes 5 mins tops. The connections are right at the front of the engine at the top. Only need a small screwdriver to disconnect the plug.
