Oil change 1.8 TSI

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I must change the oil at my skoda and I am a little doubted. On the sticker from service book I have QG1, but at the last oil change in the service book it writes that is has been changed to QG0. Now I don't know what kind of oil should I put in. I mention that I don't have a sticker on the motor. Also can you recommand oil producers and oil grades?

If you are on fixed service (9200,miles or every 12 months) The need to use 5w40 fully synthetic grade oil, any of the major brands like Mobil, Castrol, or patronos will be fine.

For the Veriable then 5w30 fully synthetic oil must be used.

You can mix the 2 for topping up, but refill with just 1 type.

If doing the Fixed Service Interval the 5w 40 FS needs to be VW502 00,

The 5w 30 FS Long life is VW504 00.    with a 1.8TSI i would give long life oil a miss seeing as the Oil might have a long life and the engine a much shorter life.

No need for Castrol / Quantum others Long Life as long as VW504 00 does the job.

But if you care about your engine 5w 40 Full Synthetic from Asda, Comma, or anyone really is just fine as long as it is to VW502 00.
