Parking sensors

Featured Replies

Hi

I drive forwards into a space in a car park, close to a bush or wall, the front parking sensors bleep as I get closer, quite rightly.

When I back out later I get the warnings again, even though I am in reverse gear, and I am clear behind ??

Why ?

Thanks as always

That's because activating reverse also turns the front sensors on. Useful for such as parallel parking.

Front sensors activate with rears in case you sideswipe an unseen obstruction whilst maneouvring AFAIK. They can be turned off via the button on the dash?

OK that makes sense, thx

Think of them as proximity, rather than parking, sensors.
