Featured Replies

Hi Anyone......bought another Fun ....i just love em................Anyhow i just sold my latest one , and i thought that i would buy one that needed work, but i was shocked to see how much....but hey!   i got cracking..........Rrear turrets were fkd, so i rewelded them back up.....not easy..........  but  get on with it...... then bits in the side panels were rusty. so cut them out and rewelded in new steel, tried to keep the original shape to them.....  front wings were shot so replaced both.........not easy to fit........... prepare to put them on..............take them off........... at least 5 times,....... Tried to take off the "hocky sticks" on the sides ....but got stuck when it got to "hoop" back door section, I may do more damage than good....so quit on that one ...all the wood in the bed was knackered, so i decided to put on a spray on bootliner from upol  looks good on the add.........i keep  you posted on that.......Very hard to spray a Fun .... all different sections with

different colours  got some parts finished already.........but lots to do............pics to follow

ok..........................................waiting...........................the................................pics.....................

@jetbubble - I see an issue in your future; trying to get that red primer/undercoat to cover with yellow paint!

Hi Ken, its not primer its fine filler,  and ill rub most of it off i , you are right though,  white or gey would have been better, as i say i'm no expert

OT but an amusing event I have just remembered.

Years ago I worked for a vehicle leasing company and we leased a Ferrari to a rather toffee nosed twit,   Anyway he had vehicle for a while and was stopped by the police for no insurance or tax.  In those days it was all done by phone.  Anyway the leasing firm had cocked up the reg number by one number.  His reg number was listed as a bright yellow Skoda Fun Pickup.   He was not happy and all sorts of sh!t flew round the office the next day. Red faces everywhere.

My welding is all finished, before i bought the car  some welding has been done on the sills, so i wont touch them for now, hopefully the work was of good order, but unless i remove the lower sill covers i cannot be sure.  i will let the MOT man decide,

Started on the painting at last...

@jetbubble

1) Paint/undercoat/primer/filler - I've seen red primers before, but undercoat is always grey or black IME. The "advice" was because red is notoriously difficult to cover with anything except more red or black top coat, and yellow is notorious for "shine through" from the underlying colour.

2) Spraying results; those look better than OEM standards on the Fun IMO: respect is due.

3) There's a limit of 10MB on pics you can upload to Briskie (and most other forums I use have similar limits). What most people do is have a photo-hosting account and insert links from it to their Briskie posts.

Thanks for the advice ken ,  as i say i'm just an amateur and willing to learn, maybe for my next project, and many thanks for the thumbs up on the paint ......  What i have noticed about hosting pics is that after a while they get deleted and are unavailable for other members to  view.
