I'm wanting to upgrade all the interior lights to LED... anyone done this with any advice? Is there anywhere that sells a lot with all the lamps needed?

I recently replaced all my interior LEDs with the Osram standard retrofit cool white LEDs.

Not cheap at nearly £4.50 a bulb, but totally worth it over the cheap Chinese stuff. No flickering and a true white rather than the blue tinge white often seen with non OEM LEDs.

Brought these ones too, and one of them shorted giving me a horrible smell and a burnt cover which i now have to replace.

No problems with mine 12 months on. They are now also upgraded to better connections.

In fairness they did offer replacements, was more annoyed that i had that horrible burning plastic smell in the car for a few days and had to pay for a replacement cover, the others do work.......so far so it may have been a once off.

If you don't have panoramic roof, then 2x w5w for front, 3x w5w for rear. 2x w5w for boot and 1x w5w for Glovebox.

 

No errors for interior - they are not canbus monitored. The exception here is the red door lights near the bottom of the door card. They are monitored.

These bulbs are short enough to fit within the interior due to the housing etc, so you won't have any problems with these, been in my vRS since 2015.

Im very interested in this but don't wish to destroy any of my interior taking it apart. Is there a short guide to removing all the respective housings without mullering them?

Do you know what bulb type for each one. For the Red Door lights do you need red led bulb

If anyone stumbles across this thread wanting to chance the quite dim interior lights to nice bright white led's it is very easy.

 

There is another thread on here with a video for the front and rear cabin lights, linked below.

 

I bought these led's off Amazon. They aren't canbus but I don't think the interior ones need it as I didn't get any errors. Thought I'd share as most previously linked products are now not for sale.

They fit well and give a good light. Will update in due course on longevity.
