Possible bcm failure

Featured Replies

Iv got a mk2 superb 2012, my defuse lights beside the reading lights, vent lights and the button lights around the gearstick were on and off intermittently and have now gone off permanently also the center dash lights have now also gone dim when the lights are on, I was wondering if anyone have had any issues like this before, I was thinking possible bcm starting to fail, any ideas and questions welcome. Thanks

Your next step needs to be a diagnostic scan with VCDS or similar.

Thanks for replying, Do you know roughly what I’m looking for on the scan please as I’m not too sure what I’ll be looking for.

You need to scan the BCM for fault codes. The easiest thing to do if you have VCDS or can get to someone who has it is to run an autoscan of the car. It will go through all the installed modules in the car and pull any fault codes that are stored there. If you post the results of the scan here we can start pointing in you in the right direction.

Ok I’ll get it done at some point this week as it’s running as a taxi and I like to get ahead of any issues arising before they get out of hand, thanks again and I’ll post the results asap

Iv just read on one of the forums on here that  he had a similar issue with the defuse lights and Skoda reported the fault as a plate behind the front cigarette socket come loose and creating a short, does this sound familiar to anyone with similar issues.
