Footwell lighting

Featured Replies

Is the footwell lighting supposed to stay on when the car is locked with the engine running? Mine does, and I'm finding it rather distracting while I'm driving at night.

Yes it does.

Turn down the brightness to 0% and the problem will be solved though.

OK, thanks.

Every other car I've had has automatically turned any interior lights off under those circumstances, so I wasn't sure if there was something wrong.

I have a Sportline with ambient lighting not sure if the UK spec SEL has it so it may be different. On the sportline, in the background lighting setting you can set the brightness if the footwell lighting, etc. this only seems to affect driving conditions as when the footwell lighting is set to zero it still comes on when entering/exiting the car.

The multi coloured LED ambient lighting isn't standard on UK SEL spec, and my car doesn't have it as an option.

I had a look in the manual and the only reference to footwell lighting was linked to the ambient lighting that's standard on Sportline and L&K's.

I've checked my car and the footwell lighting was set to 100% so I've turned it down to 10%, I'll see if that's any better but I could set it to 0% if the footwell lights still come on when entering and exiting the car.
