Rainsports or F1 A3s?

The Sessantas are an awesome tyre, but I think they've been replaced with the Vorti now. I've heard they're pretty much as good as before.

+1 for the Goodyears.

Don't get me wrong, the Rainsports are good, I've had them on previous cars, but the wear rate and soft sidewall puts me off putting them on my VRS ... You can feel the give in the tyre when you lean on it.

In my opinion the Goodyears are a better all-round tyre and well worth the small premium. I won't be touching Pirelli again though ... Probably ever.

I think that's it, with a softer compound and the fact I'm doing closer to 14k a year there isn't really going to be a saving at all.

Going to have a internet hunt later for the best price fitted for F1s and order them for next week; just need to calm myself down after witnessing Liverpool's annihilation at spurs before I get all serious!

Try Kwik-Fit's online store / booking. I normally wouldn't go anywhere near them, but they were the cheapest for me last time by about £20, plus I got £40 in Love2shop vouchers.

Black circles were also doing £10 off a pair, and I think Hi-Q are doing some sort of cashback offer with Goodyear at the moment.

I only know all this as I'm due to change my fronts really soon!

I got £20 in vouchers a few months back with Kwik Fit for my rears; they've got a Continental deal on at the moment.

I'm the same, my fronts are down to 2.0mm in some places so it's got to be within the half-term break for fitment whilst I've got the time otherwise I'll be sliding across the ice and aquaplaning for fun.

On the subject of camskill, they are in my town. Always used to shift a lot of tyres but also did a fitment service. The online trade must have gotten too good because they stopped doing fitting. So now I have to battle with the likes of kwik fit.

Don't discount the likes of "tyresonthedrive" that do mobile fitting at home or work. £90.99 each on the F1 A3 and free mobile fitting if you order 2. I had my last tyres done by a mobile fitter in the work car park and the convenience was fantastic.

I'm on their page right now! They're coming out at the quickest to fit; as kiwi-fit have to order in which is Friday at the earliest for my nearest depots.

Bought! 2x Goodyear's getting fitted Wednesday; after reading a load of reviews and with the feedback in terms of short-life span I've gave the RS's a miss. Thanks for the feedback chaps.

Yep.

Hopefully this will be the way forward tyre-fitment wise, saves booking into a garage and having to sit in their cold waiting areas!

I had Rainsport 3's on my last car and they were great in all conditions but I did seem to get through the tread noticeably more quickly than with previous tyres.

How did you get on with these? Were tyresonthedrive ok? How are the new tyres?

Ah, I forgot to post - they were awesome! Came within their allocated window and had the job done in about 25mins. Tyres are great, GY F1as3's all around now!

Thanks for for the recommendation @ahenners!

I wish I could get tyres for £91 each ... Damn these 19" alloys.

Plus I've gone for 235/35 instead of 225/35 to protect the alloys, which adds about another tenner to each tyre.

Got mine for £140 each through Blackcircles, getting fitted on Wed as I'm down to less than 2mm on the OEM Pirellis and there's no grip left at all in the wet or dry. Actually looking forward to having F1 A3s on all round at last.

Glad to hear it was a good experience!
