Front splitter help

Just wondering if I’d be better off year matching parts as a mates aftermarket splitter decided it was not going stay on his cupra (08 Leon pre facelift if that helps) when we was out and about, after recovering said splitter we decided to have a little laugh and see how well it would fit, now I know his perticular splitter had a bit off overhang going to the wheel aches which is easily enough to sort out so I’m just curious to know will an 04 plate have closer dimensions to the superb’s bumper than an 08 plate.
