Cam belt & Dsg gear box

Featured Replies

when do skoda recamond getting the Gearbox oil for the dsg and the cambelt changed?

DSG interval is 40k miles if you have the wet clutch. Dry clutch has no service interval.

Cambelt is around 130k with no time interval afaik. Some models don't have a belt i.e. TSI VRS.

cheers ahenners. Ive got no idea if ive go the car is a wet clutch or the dry clutch set up!

From my limited knowledge, the 6 speed DSG is wet, the 7 speed DSG is dry. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will be along soon to verify for you.

What model and engine do you have?

@Stonker There's a 7 speed wet clutch used in the 245 VRS model :)

Wet clutch then and due the service every 40k :)

Wet clutch then and due the dealer ****up every 40k

I've also got the 2.0 TDI engine and 6 speed DSG box. I asked Skoda UK via webchat on this. Apart from standard servicing you get from within the car infotainment system:

- Cambelt every 5 years or 140k miles, whichever sooner

- 6 speed wet-clutch DSG must be every 40k miles

Cheers Wyx.

  • I normally use my local garage for the cam belt. There a notch cheaper than the dealer!

Might poke the dealer bout the dsg box and main serviceing.

The cambelt price is fixed by Skoda at £489. Looking at my dash-cam, they took over 4 hours on changing this. Can't imagine being cheaper at local garage. You'll get 2 years labour and parts warranty as well.

Best to get the cambelt done when you are having the water pump replaced due to overheating.

Yours isn't overheating ?

Don't worry it will

Hasent shown any overheating at the moment. Put bout 500 miles on it already since Tuesday! Its still holding on to its fluids! :)
