2005 Skoda Fabia VRS (blown turbo) £650

Featured Replies

Hi all,

You can read all about the saga regarding what I should do with my VRS on this thread:

However, time is against me and I wanted to gauge some interest as to whether a mechanically minded enthusiast would want to take this off my driveway and fix up themselves:

2005 Red VRS, never been in a crash (since I've had it and I'm not aware of the previous Dr owner having one)
All documents present (although I've just taken off my personal plate so the new V5 is enroute from DVLA, but I have the retention certificate and original V5 to tally VIN to VRM etc for inspection)
150k
Heated front seats, interior is un-ripped/worn through, bolsters are still firm
Sunroof
6-disc changer
4 new Infinity tyres all round
Bluetooth Parrot phone/MP3
I put a couple of USB ports in the cubby hole so you can charge 3 devices at a time
Still got the VRS mats (the drivers one is worn through but the rest look new)
Air con blows ice-cold
Religiously oil changed with new PD synthetic oil and filters every year.  The last change was late-September.  It's only been doing £10k p/a at most since I've had it for the last 6 years
MOT till next June (2018), HPI clear

Everything electrical works as it should.  Like I say, this would make a lovely project for someone and as a fellow enthusiast I'd rather it not go to the great car graveyard...  As far as I know, its just the turbo that's blown.  The car does start and I have both remote keys.  The photos below are after my retired father in law now semi-professional detailer went at it this summer.  It isn't in the same ballpark now as I simply don't have the time to spend the amount of time he does on car cleaning but it gives you an idea of what can be achieved with some elbow-grease!  It does need a good valet now.

The car is currently at the garage otherwise I'd post up some more photos.  There is a bit of rust bubbling under the drivers' side sill and on the nearside wheelarch, but it hasn't yet come through the paintwork.  The boot carpet will need replacing as a tin of white emulsion tipped over on a run to the tip, but since I've had a blanket over it since I've not really noticed.  The alloys could do with a refurb if you want to take it to shows (after you've cleaned it).  The purists out there will want to paint the rear calipers that are silver, not green...

It's been a fantastic car, gutted to see it go but simply we needed a second car immediately for work and bought a Peugeot (not my choice) over the weekend.  I've been as honest as I can be warts and all.  It is a 13yr old car and there will be some marks and scratches I haven't mentioned but nothing springs to immediate memory.  I need it gone by the weekend as I need the drive space!

Located in Oxfordshire/Swindon.

Please ask any questions if I've not covered anything.  I bought a Freedom membership specifically to list it here as I'd prefer it be restored to glory by someone who will appreciate it as there's not many about now!

Any chance you can get a few photos of it at the garage?

its a long drive for me but a winter project would be quite cool for the right price.

thanks

Here are some photos as requested.  Sorry its not clean for them!  Also, the mileage is 157k - sorry, I genuinely thought it was 150 for some reason.

Hi

Could I have the reg please? Would like to see MOT history.
Is the car still driveable, did any of the mechanics mention not driving it until fixed? It would be a long drive for me so I would need to be able to drive it home.

Are you fixed on price?

Thanks
