Hello everyone.

I have just bought a 3-year old Superb estate.

So far I am delighted with the car. Its build quality is remarkable. The only other car I have owned which felt similar was an Audi 100 way back in the 80s.

I am working my way through all the clever features and, not being very techie, I expect I will have some questions. Browsing this site, it's clear there's a lot of in-depth knowledge and experience so I look forward to seeking advice.

Hi there, good choice  .  I loved the 170 TdIs I had.  Is it manual or DSG?

It's DSG.

I had a slight preference for manual but there were not so many around with the spec and price range I wanted. It is certainly a more relaxed drive although the spacing of the ratios is a bit uneven: there's a big gap from 3rd to 4th. It will be interesting to see how it goes in slippery conditions.
