Inlet manifold

Featured Replies

Does any one know where to get an inlet manifold fold a 12 plate 2.0 tsi.

Just rang the stealers £293 + the dreaded  vat.

Noticed they are cheap in the states but how do i find the right paet number?

Try TPS, or possibly GSF car parts?

Mine just arrived from US eBay. Paid about £120 all in (though not fitted it yet, so don't know 100% if it fits!)

Keep us informed. Hope it all fits

Does the new manifold need programming in after replacement?

Highly unlikely. There is a vavuum actuator and solenoid, mechanical intake tract runners and a position sensor?

Has your inlet manifold 100% failed? I've a runner sensor, solenoid, and vacuum actuator available if you wanted them before splashing out?

Thats great. Although i have already splashed on a new manifold! Cheers anyway

Hope your problem is sorted

I bought one of ebay for £128. Dont think it will work though no sensors came with it

Just transfer the sensors from your old one, or like I say, I have them going cheap :)

Is it a genuine one from US? I didn't think they supply them other than fully assembled with sensors. Problem is, sensors could have been faulty on your old one if you are getting DTCs / engine light.  Does it have the runner control solenoid and mechanism?

No its a non genuine one off ebay. Thought i could get away with it. I have been getting dtc of p2015.

It has the runners and an arm externaly that control it and a peice of rubber house. But cant see any thing electronic.

This is the item i have bought.

It looks genuine and has the vacuum actuator, but new parts come with the sensor, solenoid etc. too.

Cheap, just sat in storage. They work, and the reason I had the p1505 was due to the runners being all gunked up.

Check the ebay link in my sig.

Sorry im on my phone.  No link in sig

OP: it is a bit of tricky situation.  The solenoid or sensors can fail and generally not readily available separately. Maybe you could try to match a part but a dealer doesn't offer them.

Can you return the manifold for refund and if you must try to source a genuine replacement from US, like Deutsche Autoparts may ship international.  If you do some fault finding on your IM and pin point, then you could consider a different course of action.

Personally, with no experience of that pattern part, I am not sure I would go to the trouble of fitting myself.

If you don't have system lean faults then it is probably one of 3 or 4 things.

1) actualor solenoid

2) position sensor

3) either wear and hyperextension on the runner movement (can't really see without removing manifold) or gunked up runner movement (again have to remove manifold).

I will return and just buy one from the stealers i think. No point replacing it if its the sensors/solenoids that are faulty.

Looking in the states they work out about £280 with shipping
