i bought an octavia vrs 2012 ,it was an unmarked police car 

when i got it the stereo didnt work and had no gps aerial,aerial now installed and radio coded to the car ,so music and sat nav now work 

 

however i have never had any joy with park assist ,nothing on the stereo screen when going into reverse ,no beeps at all 

reversing lights work ok when engaged and i can hear all of the sensors clicking in the rear bumper 

the speaker is still connected in the b pillar trim with no signs of any damaged cables  

 

not sure where to look now ?

 

could the park assist be not activated in the dash display ?

 

 i had vcds test  and it reported park assist speaker ,so is it possible this speaker is not working and would knock out the whole system ?

 

any advice most welcome

Yes, the speaker can knock out the whole system.

My Octavia had the same problem. It was a faulty speaker behind the passengers side B pillar.

The park assist can be turned off from the stereo, however, if you put your car in reverse, the sensors should still beep if you go close to something.

should just leave light issues and park assist 

light issues are BIB altering wiring for their blues ,so need to sort that out by chasing cut wiring etc

update 

all my reverse parking sensors are clicking when in reverse but i get no sound at all ,nothing is showing on my stereo 

 

i have just installed a new parking buzzer and it is still the same nothing is working

 

any ideas guys ,would it be disabled anywhere ?

Well looking at your autoscan > Address 10 as shown below it is showing a error with Speaker, 'Open or short to ground' which suggest there is a broken wire for the speaker. It will be better to trace the wire and see if you can identify where it may be broken? Also get yourself a multimeter to test the wiring. You should be able to quickly rule out power not getting to the speaker when park aid is active.

 

Sorry but seems like you have a long way to go in order to fix the wiring issues you have in address 09 :(
